Two centuries
of quiet living.
Holly Cottage dates back to the late eighteenth century, originally built as workers' accommodation for labourers on a local fruit farm estate. By the 1960s it had fallen into disrepair — famously, with a tree growing through the middle of the old kitchen.
The cottage has since been thoughtfully transformed, including a south-facing extension that introduced a new kitchen. Most recently, in 2025/2026, it was lovingly restored — preserving its original character, from exposed beams to the inglenook fireplace, while opening it up to sweeping countryside views.
"A peaceful countryside retreat for relaxing, unwinding, and exploring — perfect for couples, walkers, cyclists, and London escapes."
Today, the cottage offers a more spacious and comfortable layout, with an entrance hall and boot room, a split-level kitchen, and an open-plan lounge and dining area. Upstairs, the dual-aspect master bedroom enjoys views to both the east and west, alongside a small reading room and a family bathroom whose vista you may never want to leave.
